Tan

Sun tanning or simply tanning is the process whereby skin color is darkened or tanned. It is most often a result due to exposure to Ultraviolet (UV) (like UV A, UV B, or UV C) radiation from sunlight or some other artificial sources such as a tanning lamp found in indoor tanning beds. People who deliberately tan their skin by exposure to the sun engage in a passive recreational activity of sunbathing. Some people use chemical products that can produce a tanning effect without exposure to ultraviolet radiation, known as sunless tanning.

Moderate exposure to the sun contributes to the production of melanin and Vitamin D by the body, but excessive exposure to UV rays has negative health effects, including sunburns and increased risk of skin cancer, as well as depressed immune system function and accelerated aging of the skin. In some cases, people also suffer from skin cancer due to tanning. Some people tan or sunburn more easily than others.

This may be the result of different skin types and natural skin color. These may be a result of genetics and hormonal changes. Tans are not permanent but it may take a while for the skin to go back to its normal color depending on how strong the sun damage has been.

There are various treatments available from removing tan from the body. At Adore clinic, we will help you to get back your natural skin tone again with the best technologies. You will not only get an even skin tone but also you will get a smoother and softer skin after the treatments. The devices used in the de-tan treatment are approved by the FDA. All treatments are safe and effective.

How to get rid of tan or tanning?

  • Few creams: Several creams help to lighten tan from face and other parts of the body. Tanning creams do not give you a fair skin color but help you in lightening your skin tone. These creams are rich in lactic acid (found in lemon, tomato, etc), niacinamide, etc which helps to lighten the upper layer of your skin. A good tan removal cream penetrates the deeper layer of the skin and helps in the production of melanin pigment.
  • Microdermabrasion with mesoporation or electroporation: Microdermabrasion treatment uses tiny crystals or a diamond tip to gently exfoliate the skin by removing dead skin. This treatment enables easy absorption of the peels and infusion of Vitamin C through mesoporation by creating channels within the skin layer. This treatment helps you to get even-toned, clear, softer, and smooth skin.

The diamond tip device is designed to gently exfoliate dead skin cells in your skin. At the same time, it will suction them off immediately. While the crystal tip microdermabrasion uses a crystal tip device to gently spray on fine crystals to rub away outer layers of the skin. Like the diamond tip handpiece, dead skin cells are suctioned off right away.

In this treatment, the tiny crystals are sprayed onto the skin after thoroughly cleansing the skin. After cleansing the skin you will get some shots of anesthetic medicine to numb the affected area. And the outer layer of the skin is gently removed. This treatment is effective on skin type and it is a completely safe method. You must avoid sun exposure for a few days after the treatment. You should use sunscreens and moisturizes for better results.

This is a completely safe treatment. It applies to most types of skin types and colors.

  • Chemical peels: Chemical peel removes the superficial dead skin layers that have accumulated excess melanin. Before applying chemicals, the skin is thoroughly cleaned and the peel is applied. Peels are classified into three according to their intensity: light, medium, and deep. A light chemical peel only penetrates the outermost layer of skin. The medium chemical peel penetrates the middle and outer layer of the skin and is more effective than light peel. A deep chemical peel deeply penetrates the skin and removes the damaged skin.

Chemical peels are completely safe and effective. This procedure may take time up to 30 minutes to 90 minutes. During this treatment, the chemical peel is applied to the tan affected areas of your skin leaving smooth skin and a lighter skin tone.

  • Q switched NdYAG laser: A Q switched NdYAG laser targets the affected area (melanin) with a beam of light. It does not affect the surrounded skin. The pigment absorbs the laser energy and gets fragmented and then removed by the skin leaving a smooth and even tone skin. This treatment is completely safe and the device used is approved by the FDA. For best results, one must take a few sessions of this treatment. It is more effective than creams and chemical peels.
